And Before She Realised It

// And Before She Realised It by @andbeforesherealisedit
When we look back on our journey, we often wonder about all the 'what ifs'. What if we had made a different decision or what if we had listened to our hearts etc. Our decisions trigger a domino effect, setting things in motion. Our protagonist too makes her choices only to have God present her with the gift of resetting her life. To start things afresh. So the next time Nadia wakes up, it's in her mother's womb.
Born in a dysfunctional family, Nadia always feels neglected. This feeling only intensifies after her parents' divorce and when Nadia moves abroad for studies and later for work. She makes friends, learns to trust them and builds a life of her own in the new City. But this time she has God to guide her by sending hints and tests her way to make the right choices. Stumbling and getting up, learning to unlearn certain set notions, Nadia finds her footing. Her life this time is a healing and accepting process.
Written in simple vocabulary, Before She Realised It is a breezy read. The premise was interesting enough but somewhere, the structure of the protagonist didn't quite connect with me. Nadia, a woman of 26 by the time the book ends somehow fails to see the obvious answers that lies in front of her. This is most certainly a YA novel and will work well for those who are wanting to start reading.
Albeit the book didn't work for me personally, I am very much looking forward to see more books by Piroja. If her debut novel has such an interesting premise, I can only imagine how well her growth will be as a writer in the future. Thank you for sending me a copy @andbeforesherealisedit and good luck for your future works ✨
