What You Wish For
by Katherine Center
I generally enjoy Katherine Center's writing style which is why I will continue to read her books. But this one was not the greatest in my opinion.
First off, I LOVED THE PREMISE. As a librarian and a former teacher, I was so excited for the school setting and the teacher-librarian/principal characters. But Sam annoyed me. A lot. I didn't like her character. The way she talked about her crush on Donovan and then all of her thoughts/feelings when he came back into her life, I just felt it was very high school. I did consider DNF'ing at one point because I felt so frustrated with her, but I kept going just because of Duncan and the overall setting.
What do I wish for? I wish I had enjoyed this book more. The setting and the supporting characters saved it for me. And I did appreciate the representation of Epilepsy, although I have no idea how accurate it was having no personal experience or basis with that myself.
