2.5. Rounded up. Ooooof y’all. Idk why I’ve been reading so many books that are way too long and have way too much going on. But that seems to be this years theme! Lurie and Nora’s stories never manage to fit together. It feels like two novels copied and pasted together. There’s a LOT that happens and yet I can’t really tell you the plot of this book because despite so much happening nothing fully happens. There’s no real conclusion to Nora’s story and there’s about a billion threads that never tie up. I am... regretful because there are moments when the language of this book sings! There would be whole paragraphs when I was enjoying myself only to spend the next twenty pages bored and unhappy. This is not the spectacular novel I had hoped for.
