I know elephants are smart, but I had no idea that they have a sense of humor or that they were such social animals. The elephants were the best part of this book. Their work during World War II was interesting and inspiring, but my favorite parts of the book were the stories about the elephants and their personalities. Also, this reinforced why camping in the jungle is not on my bucket list.
