It's no seceret I love anything Catherine Cowles writes. This is Taylor and Walker's story, the first book in the Sutter Lake series. Taylor is grieving the loss of her mother and her friends convince her to go on a group vacation in Sutter Lake. She finds she loves the peacefulness of the smal town and the anonymity of being a stranger so much she decides to stay. She soon meets Walker, whose parents own the house she's renting and whose sister owns the shop she's working at. The sparks fly, but there are some obstacles in their way. Walker is the Deputy Chief of the local police force and he is dealing with a string of missing persons and a possible serial killer. There are a few funny moments, some sexy times, and in true Catherine Cowles fashion, mystery and suspense galore. I thought this was a great start to the series that I enjoyed very much and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
