Xander: Part 2, The Present
by Anne Mercier
3.5 stars.
It’s hard to know how I feel about this book. Yes, it was good to see Xander and Tera’s story, but particularly after halfway, a lot was repeated from other books or summerising what happened previously. I also felt some of the chapters weren’t needed and other parts were rushed.
In terms of ending Xander and Tera’s story, it was good, but we knew things worked out from one of the short stories. I feel like this series has kind of lost its way. Some aspects are good, but when you read them in a binge, you realise there’s some serious problems. I’m intrigued to see where it goes but it seems like there’s a long way to go and I have to question if it’s all needed, but I will probably keep reading.
