This book hit me in all the feels! It was so heart-breaking, moving and just ... terrifying really. I have a son around the same age as the little boy who lost his life in this book and it really was a tough read at times, but a parent's love is unlike anything else in this world. What would you do if faced with an impossible situation?

Granted, I did guess the ending around the half way mark, but the story line was not only gripping, but I cared about the characters. All of them. To be honest, I know Chris made a lot of bad choices, but he was a broken man. It broke me.

I'd highly recommend reading trigger warnings, especially if you struggle to read about children dying.
