Oh my, I ate this book up!

I loved the tension between Sterling and Shooter from the very first page.

Their inner tumults they're trying to figure out, the need to not lose control only to do just that, hooked me instantly. 

Sterling and Shooter have such different characters and yet they fit together so perfectly. 

Sterling is such a nice guy who has to prove himself. He's confident but in a humble way.
And Shooter, well Shooter isn't. He's so full of himself, always number one, and can be a number one ass. But he has so much depth and that's exactly what made me fall for him. Hard.

I adore these two, their connection, and their way of interacting with each other.

And Shooter being jealous? That's just hot.

Ashley James was a new to me author in 2023 and immediately became one of my favorites.

This is just another book that shows exactly why that is.
