Another fun, funky, and fresh time from Madison Fox. Forbidden Game follows Parker, my favorite rich party boy. He's kind of going through it with his family right now; he doesn't want to give up his career in gaming to work for the family business, but his grandpa gives him an ultimatum to take over the business or lose his spot in the will. Family drama is a sure fire way to get me invested in a character. I really liked seeing Parker training for competitions, because it was a good balance to his fun-loving ways.
Sydney is the perfect example of someone working themselves to burnout (millennials + gen z I see you). She's doing everything to make sure all the boys in the System are on their best behavior or at least that their worst behavior is covered up. She's got her work cut out for her. I really like the balance of her type a personality with Parker's go with the flow lifestyle.
The romance was sweet and spicy (of course!). Parker was definitely throwing that Amex card around to get everything he thought Sydney needed. She finally has someone close to take care of her! A bit of forced proximity and opposites attract with the tiniest hint of second chance.
