The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James
5.0

First of all, I wasn’t a fan of The Broken Girls, so I was really hesitant to read The Sundown Motel. I wanted to read it because I’ve seen a lot of hype around this book. But, man, I was glad to pick this book up. It’s creepy and griping.
This book is told in two different timelines-1982 and 2017. It’s told through Viv’s point of view and from Carly’s point of view-her niece. Viv goes missing in 1982 in Fells, New York, a small town with a lot of unsolved murders. In 2017, Carly’s mom dies and Carly decides to go to Fells to learn the truth about Viv and what happened to her. From there Carly follows the footsteps of her aunt and even works the night shift that her aunt once worked at the Sundown Motel. When working at the Sundown Motel, both women experience spooky situations with ghosts and learn the truth about the Motel’s eerie history.
The Sundown Motel was a story that was hard to put down with its eerie tones and eagerly wanting to know what happened to Viv as well as the other girls who have been murdered. You won’t be disappointed with this book.
