Disney in Shadow
by Ridley Pearson
This review and hundreds of others can be found on my blog, Rachel's Reading. Check it out!
Oh this series. I really want to love this series, especially because I absolutely adored the first one. However, I think my lack of knowledge of Disney World is negatively impacting my enjoyment of these books. I know Disneyland like the back of my hand, but my knowledge of Disney World is fairly limited. Unfortunately, for how fast paced these books feel, if you don't have internal knowledge of the parks, I think it's a bit of a struggle to visualize how and where everything has taken place.
The DHI's are essentially stuck in Epcot, and Wayne is missing, so they have to find him while also seeing what that trickster Maleficent is up to and what she's planning this time. It's always enjoyable to see how the DHI's are growing as characters, and I'm always curious what Pearson will do next in the Disney universe. However, I'm not sure that I'll continue to read all the books if they leave me feeling lackluster as this one did.
