kathrinreads 's review for:
McKenzie's Turn to Fall
by Harlow James
I kindly was provided an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review
I absolutely fell in love with this story from the get-go. It follows McKenzie, a romance author who is in a bit of a writing slump, while she is looking for a meet-cute, she is scouting the rows of her local supermarket, while snacking on cookies (Best idea ever), she meets Dylan the butcher at the store. From there very one meet-cute their love story starts and McKenzie suddenly has her own love story to write.
Just as McKenzie falls for Dylan, I really fell in love with this book. It was such a fun and cozy read and just the perfect fall read. While the story is lighthearted and cute at its center, it also discusses and a few important topics. I liked how Dylan and McKenzie talked about their age difference because here we have a heroine that is older than the hero. But what absolutely sealed my love for this story was the discussion about body positive and woman with curves. I am plus-sized myself and I liked how McKenzie did not try any diets and that Dylan just accepted her as she is and actually told her this time and time again.
As with every Harlow James book, the writing style and the pacing was fantastic and I cannot wait for you all to read this story.
