The Best Laid Plans by Cameron Lund
4.0

The Best Laid Plans is a young adult contemporary romance by Cameron Lund. This book was total cuteness. It was the perfect feel good read and was exactly what I was looking for. If you are a fan of young adult romantic comedies, The Best Laid Plans is a must read for you. It is a standalone, and great for any time of the year. I may even love it more than pizza. (though that would be talking crazy in my case. I don't love much more than pizza.) ;)

In the best Laid Plans we meet our two main characters, Keely and her best friend Andrew. Keely is a high school senior and her entire group of friends have all had sex. Keely doesn't love being the last virgin in the group, and she likes it even less when she meets college age hottie, Dean. Not wanting to seem as inexperienced as she is, she hatches a plan that involves some lessons from her best friend, Andrew. I know, I know- it's an awful idea. And I don't love the whole, virginity is a disease concept that some high schoolers seem to portray, but I promise...the book is so much better than that concept. I pinky promise it is worth a read. Keely is great and Andrew will win your heart. He completely stole mine...plenty of swoons there. I loved their friendship, and the overall romance in the book was satisfyingly cute. In all the right ways.

Overall, The Best Laid Plans totally hit the spot for me. I was looking for something heartwarming, cute and funny, and this book was all of the above and more. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a YA contemporary standalone romance to make you smile. The Best Laid Plans was a great read.
