Six of Crows
by Leigh Bardugo
Some of the friends I made hosting the summer reading challenge last year LOVE this duology, so I decided to give the first one a go. Once again, I was pleasantly surprised! I probably need to rethink my "I'm not someone who usually enjoys Fantasy" claim because I've read at least a handful of Fantasy books in the past however many months that I've loved, and this is one! I'd only intended to read this first one but then realized that it was a duology aka the full story was broken into two books. In this first part we meet Kaz, leader of The Crowd gang. He gets hired to do an impossible job away from their city so he makes a crew: Inej (his loyal shadow/spider), Kesper (his right hand man and gun expert), Nina (a Grisha--person who practices the Small Sciences), Matthew (a Drüskelle--a Grisha hunter who has history with Nina), and Wylan (ammunitions and secretly the estranged son of the man who hired them). The first book contains their journey and scheme but ends as a cliff hanger.
