Full Review from my blog Owl Eyes Reviews

Before this book, I had only read a short story by Jenny Han. I loved that short story. Now, I’m starting to think that Jenny Han just knows how to get to me because I absolutely loved this book. I thought that I was growing out of cutesy books, but apparently not. However, I’m not even sure if I can classify this book as purely cutesy because it was so much more than just being cute.
I really loved Laura Jean as a character. To me both her and her family seemed so real. Her relationship with her family, especially with her sisters, really reminded me of my relationship with my siblings. Everything about this book just seemed so relatable. I loved it so much.
I really (x5) love how Jenny Han writes about diverse characters. I loved learning about the way Laura Jean and her family upkeep their Korean Culture, even though their Korean parent was no longer with them. One of my favorite things about reading books about P.O.C. is being able to relate to the character on the grounds of being different. And I totally related to Laura Jean.
I haven;t giggled and squealed over a book like this in a really long time. It was really nice. I will definitely be picking up the second book A.S.A.P.
