I think the Aero arc took a great turn because honestly I think she was too badass for that boyfriend of hers anyways. Specifically regarding the Aero/Wave story, I understand that publishing-wise it makes sense to push the reader to read more comics featuring the same characters, but: 
1. These are new characters that technically are already following after the events of one comic run (which was a part of what was essentially Marvel cross pollinating all their works to sell more comics)
And 2. Now you’re telling the reader to hop onto ANOTHER team-up story when the focus of the current story was dealing with the after effects of the previous story. 
Personally think this is a bit excessive considering you’re trying to establish these characters on their own but oh well.
