Dream On, Ramona Riley by Ashley Herring Blake
3.5

I really liked the new setting and the new side character we meet (Can't wait for April's story! I love how vibrant and funny she is). I also really enjoyed Ramona's story of putting her dreams on hold for her family. I love that she didn't regret it or hold anything against her dad and sister. I loved that she got a second chance at love, but also at her dream career. Even with all of this though, It felt like Dylan was the main character. She was the one who had a bigger character arc and whose actions and flaws were the catalyst for the major plot points. That's fine i guess but it's not her name in the title?

The lying and lack of communication was my biggest con in this book. It's not really a miscommunication trope if it's just no communication right? I wanted to love this. A queer second chance romance who the girl who was your first kiss sounds so cute. I was expecting something sweet & shy. I wanted them to relearn who each other are as adults and fall in love again slowly, but this felt like immediately falling back in love and then lying to each other until it all blew up.
