The Bribe
by Devney Perry, Willa Nash
Willa Nash is my new favorite author.
A famous country singer runs away to small town Montana, where she meets the sheriff and they hit it off. It's sort of an instalove; there's a brief period where they kind of sort of don't like each other and don't trust each other but they quickly fall for each other. But she's got some secrets and they spend a bulk of the book doing the whole push and pull thing where he asks her and she avoids it until there is absolutely no way around it. They very quickly knew they wanted to be together, and it didn't take long for them to decide their future included each other. Small town romance, annoyed local, famous heroine, spice, angst and some serious drama. I really love that Willa Nash (Devney Perry's pen name) always includes such great plots with her romance. I get just as invested in the plot as I do the character's falling in love and making it work. Her world building is always very incredible, and I love the supporting characters she writes.
This book made me smile, made me not want to put it down due to the mystery and I swooned at the epilogue and bonus scenes. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
