A Farewell To Arms by Ernest Hemingway
1.0

Farewell to Arms was one of the most tedious reads of the year. Assigned reading is generally difficult to get through, but this book was truly on another level of boredom. If you can imagine the most stereotypical great American war novel about disillusionment on the war front A Farewell to Arms hits every single beat. To add insult to injury Hemingway just had to include the most generic female character whose only personality trait is being in love with the protagonist and dying.

From his repetitive dialogue to his plodding pacing and indistinguishable Italian background character I truly cannot find a single redeeming quality in this novel.
