having read the The Way I Used To Be 4-5 years ago and loving it, I wanted to love this so bad too. butt idk man….
i’m not by any means saying it was bad, it just wasn’t necessary. i feel like if a book that has no direct indication or implication of a sequel, the sequel should be worth it. it should leave me feeling like i discovered something i didn’t know was missing. and it didn’t do that as much as it wanted it to.
it’s not like i went into this thinking it was gonna be all flowers and roses for Eden. it’s just that the whole book was too bittersweet for me (heavy on the bitter).
I liked it, but i feel like it could’ve benefited from maybe an extra 30-50 pages to make up for the pacing.
(again thanks to my job 🙈 or else i wouldn’t have had the chance to read this)
