I’ve never been a fan of adult Cyclops, but I am perfectly happy with this teenage version. The team itself is a great representation of the hope and empathy that some of the adult heroes they’ve stopped admiring lack. Overall, Champions, having a younger team, encompasses a more hopeful outlook on what heroes can do for the world. I’ve never spent much time with any of these characters and it’s really fun to get to know each member of the team as they are also starting to get to know each other. Amadeus and Cyclops interacting was probably my favorite part of the comic. I can’t wait to see what the adult heroes’ response is to them. They have their hashtag now after all.
