Invincible: Ultimate Collection, Vol. 4
by Robert Kirkman
Man Mark is really hitting his limit in life in terms of "trying" to be a normal guy.
Mark is flunking class. Life seems a bit unsure with his girlfriend and is heading in a negative direction. He clearly thinks of his father as he keeps reading his books researching ways to save him. Everything just seems to be crumbling down on Mark despite his best efforts to be a hero and safe people, and that's what makes this such a great volume. You can relate so much to Mark here.
On top of that the ending really gets going after some calm times with Mark we see Allan the alien finally make his move to try and help Mark in a unexpected way. The ending resulting in some team up action coming soon? Oh yeah baby.
Invincible was on a roll in this era, giving us daily life issues with superhero big fights and brutal deaths. Mark just trying to transition from school life to full adult is just so damn entertaining to watch.
A 4.5 out of 5.
