The only reason that I didn't rate this 5☆ is because of how slow paced the first 60%-70% is. It took me a long time to get through that first bit since there is so much world and character building, but it was definitely worth it!  I love Tissaanah's resolve in protecting everyone she cares for, Max's reclusive, trust no one attitude, Nura's complex reasoning for doing anything that she does, and Sam's loyalty no matter what. This was such a good read and while I'm definitely going to need a buffer before I dive into the next book, I'm so glad I didn't dnf it. The world building is next level😍
