Twist is the second book in the Dive Bar by Kylie Scott. This series is an adult contemporary romance series, and it is a spin off of her Stage Dive Series. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, Dirty, but you don't have to read Dirty before you read Twist. Each of the books in the Dive Bar series can be read as standalones. I really like the Dive Bar world and the characters are great. I am so happy that I have read this series from the beginning (Lately, I have had this habit of picking up books in the middle of series, which most of the time works out just fine because they can be read as standalones, but I sometimes forget how much fun it is to revisit your favorite characters and how much it adds to the series if you know the characters really well.) This is a series that I know I will be continuing.

Twist is the story of Jo and Alex, but don't worry we still get to see Vaughan and Lydia a lot because so much of the story is in and out of the bar, which I loved. One of the things I loved so much about Dirty was the whole gang of secondary characters, and that continues to be one of the things I loved most about Twist. It is like revisiting your whole group of somewhat dysfunctional but all kinds of fun and caring group of friends. They are the best and they are the reason I am so excited to read more in this series.

Jo and Alex are a great match. I really enjoyed reading about them. They certainly didn't take a conventional path to love. They started out pretty rocky and had some twists and turns from there. Annoyance, friends, not friends, more than friends, friends, undefinable. All of those categorize Alex and Jo at some point in twist, but I loved being a part of their journey. I'm super glad that there wasn't insta-love or even insta-lust in this one. It was refreshing. And their journey was really fun and satisfying to read about.

Bottom line: Twist is a great book. The dive bar series is really awesome overall. Really, that is it. I have nothing else to say other than this is a really really great book and you should read it. I can't wait to continue this series.
