I wasn’t expecting much of this, and started pretty typically for an indie published book. It’s a world where werewolves exist and so do Kitsune (those who change into foxes). But Kitsune are illegal and their sworn enemy is the werewolf. Most of book one deals with Mi trying to keep custody of her sister, afford food, and stay away from the wolves. This was not so much an adventure and you know magic exists for Kitsune, but not exactly how it works. There is a bit of action at the end which is just enough to make you interested in what happens next and seek out book 2. Another thing I like about this book is while it has “romance” it’s not really about romance. THere’s attraction but it is not the driving point of the story.
