This was just okay. I don't have anything against YA but the writing in this definitely missed the mark for me. I wanted something dark and gritty and from the synopsis, I thought I was getting that buuuut it was wrong. I liked the world, realms, magic system, and characters well enough but I felt like Taesia got a lot of her storyline in and the others just felt like they were just there. That's pretty weird when we're supposed to be following 4 main characters. I will continue the series but this was pretty meh for me.
