Not as good as the previous books. I’m not sure if I like the direction that Leif is taking and the whole vampire chapter was quite brushed over. The skinwalkers were creepy and it was interesting to follow Atticus’ journey to figure out a way to beat them. Hearne manages to make his hero only nearly all-powerful which is sometimes bordering on the ridiculous for example when he walked around with a half-snapped neck for a chapter or two. I’m also a bit disappointed that Granuille is sidelined a lot during the course of the action and hope that she’ll take a more central point in the later books.

Overall it was a very enjoyable and quick read but I missed the wolf pack and Leif a lot as well as other previous characters like the Morrigan who didn’t get enough screen time in this book. Oh and Coyote is a bloody son of a bitch. But this book is called Tricked for a reason.
