This is an absolutely brilliant book. The references to the various cultures in modern day Brooklyn was very rich and colourful. The poetry throughout the story was beautiful. A great story, that I plan to revisit again in the future.
However, as a Pride and Prejudice retelling, it felt at times that this aspect of the story was really under developed, particularly towards the end. The main character, Zuri, didn't seem to really have much character development. The book felt like it ended a bit abruptly. I would have loved to have a couple more chapters. Due to this I couldn't give the book a full 5 stars.
Regardless of this, I would say this has been my favourite P&P retelling. Highly recommended.
