Monstrous

Wow! This book got pretty dark. I mean, as an adult, I saw the twist coming from a mile away, but this is shelved as juvenile, so perhaps they'll be shocked. Yet, as I said earlier, it does get pretty dark, so I would recommend it for older kids and tweens. The writing style is pretty simplistic, but it's in first person and reflects the newborn-feel of the newly-made Kymera (I see what you did there). She looks like a young girl (but with wings and a tail and claws) but was recently created by her Father. It's a fun fantasy read that feels a little bit like a fairy tale at times.
