Parable of the Sower
by Octavia E. Butler
challenging
dark
emotional
medium-paced
Octavia E. Butler had a special skill of understanding the world and the direction that we are currently on while she is now an ancestor. This book shook me to my core and had me fully immersed in the thought processes of the main character. I remember feeling some reminiscence in this book to the Patternist Series and think, wow! How she connects her books is beautifully done! I am nervous to read the Talents, but I hope to get to it by the end of the year.
