Trigger warnings: blood, parental abuse, self-harm, violence, alcohol abuse

I'm torn between giving this 3 or 4 stars, so I'm giving it 3. In all honesty, the world building didn't impress me; I was confused for a lot of the time (and still kind of am?) Nadya annoyed me for a lot of the book because she just couldn't stick with any decision she made. Why?? Ugh.

I will say the magic system was interesting and probably the best aspect of the book. Serafin was my favorite character, as he felt the most fleshed out to me. More of him in the next book! I also enjoyed the narration in the audiobook. It worked really well!
