A war story with several characters committing war crimes and acts of torture throughout. This was VERY* jarring to read since I usually enjoy Tomasi’s writing and the Green Lantern Corp cast doesn’t behave this aggressively. It would have been interesting to hear them acknowledge they’re behaving differently, but the writer portrays this as just any other GL story, robbing the story of any interesting character work we could have had from exploring their reactions to genocide. Combine this with the cheesy, macho-man dialogue and the fact that the world is much more aware now of police brutality, and you get a story that feels dated in all the worst ways.
