I had such high hopes for this book and they have been dashed. I know most people expect in a trilogy, for book two to suffer the second book slump. The only problem here is that book three never recovered. I felt for the characters, and the plot line was interesting, but it was worse than pulling teeth to get through this title. The characters were no longer compelling or gripping, and the story seemed too contrived and convoluted. It is such a shame since Divergent was the top book for me the year it came out. I tried to block what others said about this title, until I had a chance to read it for myself, but they were right. I am no longer surprised that many of the people I know who started Allegiant, did not finish it.
