It's so nice to read a book so close to home. This was great in so many ways. There were relationships that revolved logically, opinions that changed, and the Author did shy away from sensitive topics like residential schools. They aren't mentioned often, but she does talk about them and other tough subjects. I loved how every time the main character talked about Montreal I could picture it without the descriptions. I know what the Bell Center is, and where it is. That's a novelty right there.
