The Prophet
by Amanda Stevens
Stevens does some really cool world-building: Charleston comes alive on the page, and the addition of the magic spiraling below the surface of the city is fascinating. Unfortunately, Amelia and Devlin are both complete morons, and the plot drags along like molasses in January. My love of the South is the only thing keeping me reading.
