I forgot these were poems since I did the audio, and thought at first they were nicely lyrical essays. It would have been nice to see them laid out on the page, but it was also lovely to hear the author read them! The word that springs to mind to describe this collection is ‘nice’, which implies a little forgettable. Some interesting parallels drawn between the author’s personal experiences and the natural world, and definitely one that makes you want to spend a little more time outdoors
