Tropes: small town, childhood friends to lovers, brother’s best friend, second chance, billionaire, romantic suspense
Catherine is the queen of small town, romantic suspense, interconnected stand-alone family series. This is the third book in the Lost and Found series which follow the Hartley siblings as the find love — and it’s Grae’s turn!
📖 As the only girl surrounded by four brothers, Grae was used to being protected all the time. But she had always found comfort and peace with Caden as a best friend, even if her feelings were more. That is until he pulled away from her at a time that her body failed her too. A chronic illness diagnosis and the loss of Caden was something she learned to live with, until he showed back up in town and refused to give her any space. When a casual date wouldn’t back down from pursuing her, Caden stepped in with the “we’re dating” routine and sealed it with a kiss. But the act didn’t stop there — this plan would help protect Grae from this casual ex and also help Caden with his family business. But how long can fake dating work between two people who have always felt more? And what if someone really wants to keep them apart?
I knew from the start that everyone was a suspect! Catherine always has the best twists and I knew I was in for a ride. She didn’t fail me, and my guess was wrong lol! Grae was a tough girl that loves her family but won’t let them control her life — I love that she wants to live her own way. Caden was such an advocate for her. He had such a difficult family life, and the Hartley family is always willing to take someone in and make them part of the crew. I just love the Hartleys! Seeing Nash and Maddie and Holt and Wren is just awesome. And my excitement level for Roan’s book is off the charts!!
🎧 I listened to this on audio and it was great! It was dual narration with Joe Arden as the narrator for the male POV and Erin Mallon as the narrator for the female POV. Joe Arden is one of my absolute favorites and he crushed it as Caden — really letting all of the emotions come through and carrying so much energy to bring me right into the scene. Erin Mallon did a nice job as Grae, though after listening she’s maybe not who I would have imagine as Grae’s voice. The audio was fabulous nonetheless!
