To Crack the World Open: Alaska, Solitude, and a Dog Named Woody
by Ward Serrill
adventurous
emotional
reflective
slow-paced
Huh, I’m very mixed about this one!
So; I really enjoyed the descriptiveness of the Alaskan wilderness, those parts I think were the strongest part of the book.
I think what this book lacked for me was some sense of direction, I wasn’t particularly connecting with the author’s story or purpose for being where he was, or the choices he was making.
Also, though Woody the dog would have played a MUCH bigger part of the story, and was VERY emotional when he disappeared and was never found. :(
Overall, happy to have read a locally published book, and learn a little bit more about the Alaskan wilderness!
