This follows right on from Grind, so you will need to have read Clash and Grind before reading this installment.
In the aftermath of what happens at the end of Grind, Macy is becoming a shell of the vibrant, vivacious woman that Cal has been falling in love with.
Each book. I have adored Cal just that little bit more - heck , if Macy won't have him, I'd have a go! His determination, his unyielding devotion to Macy... swoon!
While the first two isntallments have been been heavy on the sexy - nothing wrong with that - this installment is
This is mostly told from Cal's POV, though we do get to see, hear, feel what Macy as feeling through her diary entries.
There is so much more to Macy than she has let on previously, and watching her open up to Cal, seeing her bloom in her newfound freedom and happiness from the secrets she has long held close to her chest. It is just wonderful what the love and belief of a good man can do.
I have to say, through each and every installment of this series, I have come do dislike Macy's family more and more. I despised them at the end, and feel that each and every one of them god what they deserved.
Mac and Matt make appearances again, and there is nothing not to love about them.
Cal and Macy's story has been both sexy and fun, as well as heart wrenching at times. This finale is more about Cal and Macy and their emotional connection. You can't help but want to see them get through the obstacles, the things that are conspiring to keep them apart.
Ms Bennett's writing can flip between the risque, sexy times between Cal and Macy, and the heartbreaking tales of abuse and lack of self worth. She touches on these subjects compassionately. This is as much a tale of Macy's self discovery as it is a tale of love and lust.
I cannot wait to see what we get next.
