Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants
by Robin Wall Kimmerer
This author voice is so soothing and invites you to learn about indigenous practices and beliefs. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!!
I learned so much about Potawatomi history and of the 7 fires that the ancestors prophesied about. Currently we are in the 7 fire that discusses climate change and that we need to start being better people to then earth. In addition to making a choice either to save the earth or watch it burn.
The author discussed their challenges on teaching her students about botany and the students using religion to answers her questions about photosynthesis. She shared intimate parts of her life including her daughters and her partners.
This book was very informative and repeatedly connected what ever was said to reciprocity and how we must always give thanks.
