That Thing You Do: A Novel
by Kayti McGee
ARC received for an honest review
Firstly, am I the only one who gets that song from that Tom Hanks movie in my head every time I read the title? No? Just me then?
That Thing You Do is a cute, fun read that I really enjoyed. I adore Greta and her two besties! I love their quirks and their love for each other, and at first their teenage pact is fun.
DJ Force - aka as Jon, he is just the thing that she needs - even if she doesn't know it yet!
You know what I like reading at the moment? I am loving a story where the guy is all in, knows what he wants, and the woman fights it. For years we have been reading about the girl waiting for the guy to catch up. This is the 3rd book this week that has been the opposite - and I like it!
There is a beautiful push/pull between our lovelies - well, she pushes, and he pulls!
Right from the start, the reader can tell that Greta and Jon are going to be together, it was just the wonder of the journey they would take to get there.
Greta did frustrate me at times, and I may have yelled at my kindle for Jon to run away, however I could understand some of her reasons why.
That Thing You Do was a fun read, and now I can't wait to see who knocks the other two ladies off their feet.
