The Unquiet Bones
by Loreth Anne White
dark
mysterious
medium-paced
There was a lot to like in this mystery. It's very well written to compel you forward to figure out what's going on. Jane is a homicide detective who has a missing fiance and is pregnant with his baby. She is on a leave of sorts and is put on a 47 year old case when bones are found.
There are so many coverups and lies and I felt bad for some of the people involved who thought certain things that aren't true of themselves.. But there are a few characters that I feel life has given them a certain kind of justice, even if it's not legal justice.
The last journal entries of our missing girl made me so mad and repulsed. Shame on both her parents.
