Description: Isabelle's son Mason seemed to disappear in the middle of the night. Over a year later, Isabelle and her husband are essentially estranged, she's still doing true crime appearances, and she's no further to find her son. Until a podcaster pushes her to not only re-evaluate the night Mason disappeared but also re-evaluate her own dark past. Will she be able to find herself and Mason, or lose everything in the process?

The 2 stars:
- It does wrap up nicely.
- I think Stacy's writing is overall enjoyable, but this was not the book of hers for me. A Flicker in the Dark was one of my favorites last year.

The loss of 3 stars:
- I felt the story fell flat. I'm not sure if it's because it was a cold case or something else, but it felt less dimensional than A Flicker In The Dark.
- The jumps in time were not enjoyable.
- The intensity of the novel felt forced, making it a tougher read.

overall: If you prefer slower burn thrillers with a wrapped up ending, you may enjoy this. Clearly there are a lot of other high ratings, but for some reason, this one did not hit the same for me.
