This book was really quite interesting. I did not know that female children were sometimes dressed as males and allowed to do male things in Afghanistan to make up for the lack of sons. This woman's experiences were really enlightening to me. I would highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn more about middle eastern customs and people.
