How to Be Ace: A Memoir of Growing Up Asexual
by Rebecca Burgess
informative
reflective
medium-paced
I always feel weird assigning a rating to a memoir. Mainly because that’s someone’s life.
This was such a good book that depict that asexuality is a spectrum and can look different for different people. Rebecca (they/them) discusses their life and how they have experienced adversity while trying to fit in. Often times, Rebecca did NOT have a word to describe how they felt about being ace. They didn’t know it existed and they thought something was wrong with them. This book discusses that journey, the good, the bad, and the lessons of being ace, having anxiety, and OCD.
