I can't force myself to finish this. Its just altogether boring to me. An interesting idea the Archive but Mackenzie, her family and her dealings with the Archive, Librarians and the Narrows are almost completely uninteresting. The action scenes once they start happening are quick bursts of energy to an otherwise blah book.

Mackenzie goes back and forth between being curious enough to break rules and not being curious enough to ask why she's being told to do what she's doing. While I understand that being a curious person myself but sometimes just wanting to go about my day without thinking. I still feel like she is not asking questions about the right things and keeping other stuff to herself which all adds up to more danger. I don't want to cop out and say she's too young for this but I can't think of another reason. And when I stopped to ask myself if I really cared about any of the plot the answer was no. So here we are.
