Long Bright River by Liz Moore
5.0

Imagine being a cop in a poverty neighborhood where people are suffering from the opioid epidemic. Women are selling their bodies. Their is a murderer on the loose. But, out of all these people, your sister is an addict and a sex worker. You fear each time you get called for an overdose or see a victim of homicide, you worry if it is your sister this time. Where is your sister anyway?
Long Bright River is told in present time and in flashbacks. Michaela is looking for her sister at the same time trying to find the murderer. Who could it be? It sheds light on the opioid epidemic and the police force. Super quick and enthralling read.
