There is an odd tension in Mrs. Caliban created by the simple prose and absurdity of the plot. It’s almost not absurd because the words are devoid of any emotion. And yet, at just over a hundred pages, it could have given us more - especially when it dealt with some of the heavier topics.
Moderate: Child death
Minor: Physical abuse, Sexual assault
