As captivating as this book was, I was disappointed in the lack of exploration about how/which humans were selected for consumption. Felt like a lost opportunity to talk about how race/class/orientation, etc. could have played into that decision and brought more depth to the story. Although an ineresesting story, the gory detail and lack of depth wasn't compelling enough to warrant a higher score.
