The 2nd largest recorded earthquake in history and I knew very little about it. This book is more than just the story of Genie Chance, but about how people and communities come together during a tragedy. It reminded me (in a good way) of The Day The World Came to Town and helped to remind me that humans can be good, caring, and loving to one another, despite what toxic media tells me.
